Volunteer Grant Writer
Volunteer Description
Oasis Youth Care Programs is looking to put together a team of volunteers for our Grant Writing and Fundraising Committee. Volunteer Grant Writers will be responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to grant-making organizations and will persuasively communicate the mission and programs of Oasis Youth Care to potential funders. The Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with granter contacts, conduct prospect research, and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.
Responsibilities:
- Work within the Grant Writing Committee to develop and implement an annual development plan/strategy to increase annual grant income.
- Develop/write grant proposals to foundations and grant-making organizations,
persuasively communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential Funders.
- Assemble/submit grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and Presentations.
- Conduct prospect research, collecting data, and writing for each grant.
- Report progress in grant research, grant submission and outcome to the Executive Director.
- Manage the proposal submission process to ensure timely submission of all required materials.
- Develop and maintain a proposal calendar.
- Coordinate and follow up on the progress of submitted proposals.
- Track and record volunteer hours.
Requirements:
● Experienced Grant Writing and Academic Writing skills preferred.
● Detail-oriented, organized, and deadline-driven.
● Clear, precise, and compelling writing skills.
● Motivated self-starter with the ability to work independently with purpose and accuracy when under pressure with deadlines.
● Must be able to represent our organisation courteously in written or verbal communication with internal and external stakeholders while communicating needs and problems.
● Good work ethic: possesses an eagerness to learn and improve in their skills, be committed to goals and targets, be willing to go the extra mile when required.
● Schedule flexibility: able to commit about 2 hours a week / 8 hours a month

This position does not attract a salary but all expenses for projects will be reimbursed.
