By age 18, about 6,700 youth are ready to age out of the child-protection system in Canada every year. Many of them, especially black racialized youth, are vulnerable and at-risk due to a difficult start to life.
To help them overcome barriers they face, Oasis Youth Care as a registered charity, relies on
community funders and subscribed memberships to support and ensure that youth in the Halton and Peel Region have safe, decent and affordable housing and other support services
to transition into a healthy future of independence.
It takes $131,737/year to provide care for ONE (1) youth in a minimum security jail. With an annual budget of $322,00 and proactive model to care, we will support FIVE (5) youth, providing stable transitional housing and wrap-around supportive services that will keep them from falling through the cracks and possibly incarcerated.
